On March 27, 2019, Julia Sherwood received the Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav Prize, awarded annually to a translator of Slovak literature into other languages and published outside the country. The jury noted the fact that, “jointly with her husband Peter Sherwood she has translated several key contemporary Slovak authors”; they also praised her promotion of Slovak literature abroad, apart from her translation work, “through the e-journal Asymptote.
